Plain Desiccators are physically the same as Vaccum
Desiccator. Only difference is the absence of stop cock.
Grease should be applied on the flanges to make it air tight.
Both Vaccum & Plain Desiccators are provided with a thick
perforated Polypropylene disc with a big holes in the centre
for easy lifting. The tiny hles in the disc provide air
troughs & support to the dishes. However procelain discs
are advisable in case of incandescent crucibles.

These polypropylene Stop Cocks are fitted with a Poly
Tetra Flouro Ethylene (PTFE) plug & have serrated
tubulations that accept from 6mm to 10mm tubing. These Stop
Cocks are absolutely leakproof and are available in two
different options i.e. 2 way & 3 way.

Lasany Kipp's Apparatus made of Polyethylene has three
main portions. The top portion is fitted with a thistle funnel
and a bulb structure through which dilute funnel and a bulb
structure through which dilute acid can be poured which reacts
with a metal sulphide in the base of the Apparatus. Hydrogen
Sulphide gas then evolved collects in the middle dome from
where it can be released through a leakproof stopcock fitted
with a self lubricating Poly Tetra Flouro Ethylene (PTFE)
plug. The base is provided with a residual outlet fitted with
a cap for easy cleaning.
