LI8034 J TUBE, SCREW FITTING
Glass J tube fromed from 1mm bore thick walled capillary tube, with a brass screw and collar at the end of the longer limb. Used for sampling small quantities of gas held over water(e.g. in photosynthesis or repiration experiments). A bubble of gas is introduced into the short limb. This is then lowered into reagent solution and the bubble moved back and forth so that reagent diffuses through the end waer seal. The change in length of the bubble indicates the amount of gas taken up by the reagent. Use potassium, hydroxide for C02 or alkaline pyrogallol for 02. Dimensions long limb 250mm, short limb 100mm.

LI8035 GLASS MANOMETER TUBE MOUNTED |
For construction of a simple repirometer. Mounted on a clear acrylic panel by a locking bar, allowing graph paper to be mounted behind the manometer. Dimensions 140x70 mm heightxwidth. Capaillary bore 2mm diameter. | |
LI8036 RESPIROMETER
For demonstrating and measuring the oxygen uptake in respiring material eg. germinating seeds. Glass vessel graduated 75 x 100 x 1 ml. with levelling tube. Complete with stand and clamp.

LI8037 SIMPLE RESPIROMETER |
A complete unit for comprising rates of absorption or evolution of gases by small organisms, during respiration. The apparatus consists of two stoppered boiling tubes connected by three way taps to either limb of a graduated manometer. One tube holds the organisms and has a syringe for altering the level of liquid in the manometer during setting up. The other tube acts as a control thermo-barometer. CO2 given off by the respiring organism is absorbed by potassium bydroxide in the experimental chamber resulting in a change in the level of liquid in the manometer tube. Complete with wire baskets for supporting organisms.

LI8039 LEAF AREA CUTTER |
Made from steel, capable of cutting very thin material fitted with brass pipe having holes.
| |
LI8040 SIMPLE AUXANOMETER
To show the growth of plants and the effects of environment on the rate of growth. It comprises of a light weight metal pointer, counter balanced by mass hanger and masses, with a large easily readable scale. Supplied complete with mass hanger and stands.
